Severe weather closure

All decisions regarding  school closure will be made in the morning and all parents will receive a school app notification by 7:15am.

Information will also be updated on the school website, local authority website and on our twitter feed @hmprimary

The school will stay open if at all possible but acknowledges that the safety of staff, children and parents is of prime importance.

Parents and carers have the responsibility of getting pupils to and from school safely and need to decide if the journey is safe when severe weather affects transport and/or walking conditions.  Parents/carers should inform school if their child is absent due to severe conditions making the journey unsafe.  Please consider carefully your individual child’s needs and only keep children at home if conditions are unsafe.

On very rare occasions the school may need to close during the school day. Should these circumstances ever arise, parents/carers will be informed by app notification, telephone, through the school and LA websites and twitter account.

On all occasions please provide your children with appropriate clothing and footwear for any winter weather conditions (cold/wet/windy weather) including shoes/boots with a good grip for icy conditions.  We endeavour to take children out to play so that they have fresh air, in all but the most severe conditions.
