The Ofsted report from our inspection in July 2014 is extremely positive about our school and the inspectors found a great deal to commend. It accurately reflects where we have got to and the significant achievements we have made as a newly amalgamated school.

Comments from the report include:

  • Pupils feel extremely safe in school. They know how to keep themselves safe. The school looks after them exceptionally well;
  • The school’s promotion of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is very strong. Pupils from different backgrounds get on very well together and learn to appreciate each other’s cultures and traditions;
  • Governors have a very good understanding of the school’s strengths and of what it needs to do to become even better.
  • Senior leaders, working closely with the governing body, have managed the uniting of two separate schools very effectively;
  • Leaders are ambitious for the school.

The report also gives very clear direction with regards to what the school now needs to do to achieve ‘Outstanding’. The points raised include:

  • Ensuring all pupils receive clear and effective feedback in relation to how they can improve their work;
  • Ensuring all work set for pupils is adapted during the course of a lesson to ensure that all pupils make rapid and sustained progress.

Thank you to all the parents and carers for fantastic feedback on Parentview and your overwhelming agreement that you would recommend our school to others.

Congratulations to the children for their good behaviour and engagement with the inspectors. They were a real credit to you and to their school.

As a staff, we are all committed to building on this report and look forward to working with you to achieve the best for our pupils.

We amalgamated in September 2012 to become Henry Maynard Primary School and Nursery, the Ofsted reports below are for the 2 separate schools Henry Maynard Junior School and Henry Maynard Infant School and Nursery.
