What a great Summer term!

The Summer term has been another exciting and busy term at our school! Here's a list of some of the exciting activities, Wow days, trips and events that have enriched our learning and curriculum:

  • Year 2 show - Adventures in a Chocolate Factory.
  • Year 6 performance - School of Rock.
  • Ducklings hatching on both sites!
  • Summer Fair by FoHMS.
  • Sports Days!
  • Reception Space exhibition for parents made up by space rockets, planets, aliens, space craft and other out of this world objects.
  • Reception visited Walthamstow Fire Station, Lloyd Park and Lea Valley Park Farm this term.
  • Our annual Reception Strawberry Tea was a great success and raised £211.00.
  • Nursery have had 2 trips this term – to Wingfield Park and Jubilee Park.
  • Toy Library had a fun Teddy Bears’ picnic in the Nursery garden.
  • Year 1 visited the William Morris Gallery and did  pond dipping activities at Lloyd Park.
  • Tinga-Tinga tale  performance by staff for Year 1.
  • Year 1 visited Mudchute Farm.
  • Year 2 and 5 have had a safety talk visit from the London Fire Brigade
  • Year 2 were visited by a professional chef as part of the Adopt a Chef programme making their own fruit crumble. 
  • Trip to Epping Forest by Year 2.
  • Year 2 Grandparents’ Tea Party.
  • KS1 choir and KS2 orchestra took part in the Waltham Forest Music service concert
  • Year 1 and 2 footballers competed in the borough football competition at GOALS.
  • Borough wide Value Games.
  • Year 3 went to the Ragged School linked, visited the Science museum, visited an allotment and investigated gardening skills and visited the Olympic Park to watch paraathletes.
  • Year 4 have been to the British Museum to investigate the Egyptian galleries, visited Chalkwell t explore the seaside and have started a two week intensive course in swimming.
  • Year 5 visited Kentwell Hall where they spent the day immersed in Tudor life. They have also had a visit from Shaking up Shakespeare, doing a workshop around Romeo and Juliet.
  • Year 5 also visited the local mosque.
  • Although Year 6 had their annual trip to Suntrap and have taken part in Bike-ability and visited Lloyd Park to celebrate the end of SATS.
  • Diverse Voices (performing arts group) delivered a workshop around the topic of cyber bullying and staying safe online for Year 6.
  • KS2 chess tournament.
  • Instrumental Concert.
  • Year 3 performance of The Little Mermaid.
  • Production club performed Macbeth.
  • Y6 were involved once more with the Soho Theatre project – a group of 30 children visited the theatre to see plays performed and submitted plays which they had written, and the company visited the school to perform the winning play.
  • Some Year 5 pupils visited the Barbican for performance by London Symphony Orchestra.
  • Architecture club entered a competition to develop architecture and engineering. Year 4, 5 & 6 pupils took part. This is organised by Open City, and run in partnership with Lipton Plant Architects.
  • Architecture Club visited Finsbury Circus.
  • Debate Mate - we came third out of all the schools in London.
  • The Engineering Club visited Chessington to investigate forces at work.
  • We have had many assemblies focussing on British Values, as well as looking at the general election and democracy.
